Hyperscale Data Centers Drive Record High-Capacity Orders
Hyperscale operators building AI training and inference infrastructure are ordering VPE transformers at unprecedented power ratings and volumes, since indoor fire safety requirements make dry-type designs functionally mandatory for equipment located inside occupied data hall buildings. Microsoft, Google, and Amazon have collectively announced data center capacity expansion exceeding tens of gigawatts of new power demand over the next several years, a scale that is straining manufacturer production capacity and extending lead times across the entire industry well beyond historical norms. Smaller manufacturers are increasingly forming joint ventures to access comparable production scale without the full capital outlay.
Market Impact: Adds 17 percent to demand
